LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Vegas Golden Knights are only in their second NHL season, and already they're going into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame.
The hall executive committee announced Friday that inductees this year will also include veteran Las Vegas sportswriter Steve Carp, former Arena Football player-turned-high school and college coach Hunkie Cooper and youth baseball coach-turned-pro scout Manny Guerra.
Former UNLV football player-turned-South Point Arena manager Steve Stallworth and Las Vegas Baseball Academy founder Mike Martin round out the Class of 2019.
The Golden Knights advanced to the Stanley Cup Final in just their first year of existence, becoming the first modern-era expansion team in major U.S. professional sports to finish first in its division.
Hall induction ceremonies are set for June 14 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
